Coronavirus in Scotland: 166 new cases in the Lothians as country records 11 deaths

A total of 166 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Lothians as Scotland sees 11 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

Across Scotland, 1,433 people have tested positive for the virus since yesterday.

Of these new cases, 524 were confirmed in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 321 in Lanarkshire and 174 in Ayrshire and Arran.

The remaining were reported from the nine other health boards in Scotland.

The recent figures, released by the Scottish Government, revealed 985 people are being treated for Covid-19 in hospital, and 84 people are in intensive care having recently tested positive for the virus.

A total of 55,449 have tested positive for the virus in Scotland since the start of the outbreak, according to government figures.
