Coronavirus in Scotland: 250 new cases confirmed in the Lothians as country records 28 new deaths

Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that 28 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours as 250 new cases are confirmed in the Lothians.

The First Minister reported that in total 1,739 new cases of coronavirus were recorded across Scotland in the last 24 hours.

Of these cases, 250 were in the Lothians, 605 are in Great Glasgow and Clyde, 520 in Lanarkshire and 105 in Ayrshire and Arran.

873 people are currently being treated in hospital with coronavirus, an increase of 49 people from figures yesterday.

73 people are in intensive care which is an increase of three from the day before.

So far, 50,903 people have tested positive for coronavirus across the country.

In Scotland, in total 2,653 people have died from coronavirus.
