Coronavirus in Scotland: 28 more deaths recorded across the country as 128 new cases are confirmed in the Lothians

The First Minister confirmed in her briefing today that 28 new deaths have been recorded across Scotland and 128 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours in the Lothians.

In total, 999 new cases have been confirmed across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases 128 were in NHS Lothian, 378 were in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, with 207 in NHS Lanarkshire and 107 were in Ayrshire and Arran.

Ms Sturgeon also said that 1254 people are in hospital with the virus, an increase of 29 from the figure reported yesterday.

92 people are in intensive care with the virus, that is one less than yesterday.

In total, 2877 people have died of coronavirus in Scotland.

Since the start of the pandemic, 67,011 people have tested positive for coronavirus across the country.
