One of the UK’s oldest girls boarding schools, The Mary Erskine School in Ravelston, Edinburgh remains open to staff and pupils but confirmed earlier today that they did have a single positive case of Covid-19.

Linda Moule, Principal of Erskine Stewart’s Melville School, said: “There was a confirmed case of Covid-19 at The Mary Erskine School. We worked closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and followed national guidance.

All those who came into close contact with the case were contacted and advised to self-isolate. The Mary Erskine School remains open and staff and pupils who were not affected are attending as normal.”
