Ms Sturgeon announced that there are 1,196 new cases of coronavirus in Scotland, with 161 of them in the Lothian area.

There are 629 patients in hospital across the country, and 58 people in intensive care.

Shetland is the only area that does not have an positive cases.

Greater Glagow and Clyde have 416 new cases, Lanarkshire has 309 and Ayrshire and Arran has 104.

The First Minister also gave a special thank you for all school pupils for adapting to all the restrictions and changes made as well as a plea to all football fans asking them not to travel to watch the Old Firm at the weekend.
