Staff to continue looking after priceless collection of plants

ANOTHER leading Capital visitor attraction has closed its doors in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Bosses at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh have confirmed the Inverleith grounds will be shut temporarily.

A statement reads: "The welfare of our staff, volunteers, students and visitors is at the forefront of our minds and we are taking all necessary precautions, following government directions and guidelines and monitoring updates on the COVID-19 outbreak."

But they assured their priceless collection of plants will be maintained by staff as normal in keeping with their role as a world-leading centre of plant science and conservation.

"We will continue to share news and updates on the website and through social media during this difficult time," adds the statement.
