Coronavirus in Scotland: Six deaths and 542 covid cases reported in the past 24 hours, latest figures reveal
Scotland has recorded six deaths from coronavirus and 542 positive tests in the past 24 hours, the latest Scottish Government figures show.
It brings the death toll under this measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,602.
A total of 218,432 people have now tested positive in Scotland, up from 217,890 the previous day.
The daily test positivity rate is 2.1%, down from 2.8%.
There are 237 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, down 13 in 24 hours, and 21 patients are in intensive care, a decrease of two.
A total of 2,463,069 people have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and 354,756 have received their second dose.
The Scottish Government has announced that over the Easter weekend (April 2-5), daily updates will be limited to headline statistics on new cases, test positivity rate, deaths and vaccinations.
More detailed statistics will be given on Tuesday April 6.
