Coronavirus in Scotland: six deaths as country records more than 1,000 new cases in 24 hours

A total of six new deaths have been recorded as 1,009 cases of coronavirus were confirmed from health boards across the country in the last 24 hours.

So far, 432 people are in hospital with Covid-19, according to the latest statistics which were released by the Scottish Government on Saturday, 10 October.

The figures also show 34 patients with the virus are being treated in intensive care to date.

During the week ending October 10, 6,591 out of 47,820 people newly tested were positive.

Since the start of the outbreak, a total of 843,449 people in Scotland have been tested. Of these; 38,042 were positive and 805,407 were confirmed negative.
