Coronavirus testing: full list of test centres across Scotland and when they open

Here is a list of the current drive-through and walk-through test centres available in the country.

Covid-19 testing centre at Edinburgh airport

Test centres have been popping up across the country since the coronavirus pandemic hit in a bid to control the spread of Covid-19.

Since March, several sites, including some of Scotland’s airports, have been use for testing patients.

Due to a recent surge in cases, with 486 people testing positive in one day on Wednesday 23 September, the UK Government is working on expanding testing services.

Drive-through testing sites

Testing under the UK programme in Scotland is currently conducted in drive-through sites operating at:

Glasgow Airport Edinburgh Airport Aberdeen Airport Prestwick Airport Inverness - University of the Highlands and Islands campus Perth – University of Highland and Islands campus

Walk-through sites are operating at:

Victoria Hall, St Andrews Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow (opened on 18 September) Aberdeen University, Aberdeen (opened 24 September)

Walk-through sites due to open soon:

Usher Hall, Edinburgh (25 September) Riverside car park, Glasgow West End (date to be confirmed) Dundee (likely to be late September) Stirling (likely to be early October) Edinburgh West End (likely to be early October)

A UK Government spokeswoman said: “The UK Government will fund and operate 22 walk through centres in town and cities across Scotland.

"By the end of this week four of these will be open, with others following soon.

"The location and dates of other walk through sites are still to be confirmed.

" The UK Government is also providing six drive through testing sites in Scotland, as well as the Glasgow Lighthouse lab which is processing test samples round the clock.”

There are also a number of mobile testing units which will be located in towns across Scotland for short periods each time:

You may have the option, depending on availability, to book a home test kit.

Home test kits are an option where people seeking a test are unable to attend a drive-through centre.
