COVID-19: Fife hospital ward closed after eight staff and patients test positive

Eight staff and patients linked to a Fife hospital ward have tested positive for COVID-19.

NHS Fife confirmed the cluster of cases related to Ward 2 at St Andrews Community Hospital.

The ward is currently closed to new admissions.

The health board said a range of mitigation measures have been put in place to reduce the opportunity for further spread of the virus, including enhanced cleaning measures over and above an already stringent cleaning regime.
