Covid: These are the 12 Edinburgh areas with the highest coronavirus rates this week as Nicola Sturgeon confirms masks will stay until Easter

Here are the 12 areas in Edinburgh with the highest rates of Covid-19 over the last seven days as Nicola Sturgeon confirms that the easing of rules around face masks will be delayed again until mid-April.

This data is published by Public Health Scotland and breaks down the number of Covid-19 cases per neighbourhood over the last seven days.

The area with the highest number of cases in relation to its population this week was Gilmerton South and the Murrays.

The First Minister told MSPs earlier this week that due to a “very high level of infection and the pressure on the NHS” the dropping of face mask rules will be pushed back until April 18.

Here are the 12 worst hit areas of Edinburgh between March 22 and March 28, 2022.
