Dr Gregor Smith: Tattooed chief medical officer surprises Scots with stunning body art as he receives coronavirus vaccine jag
Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer proved he has no fear of needles as he was given his AstraZeneca jab – revealing a huge tattoo on his arm.
Dr Gregor Smith revealed an impressive inking of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine, after posting a picture of his vaccine appointment.
Sharing the pic on Twitter, he said: “Got my first dose OxAZ vaccine today from Nicole (DN) and Jack (Dentist).
“Lovely slick process @NHSLanarkshire and great info from vaccinators.
“I’m so very grateful to all the team involved in planning and delivery of this – thank you! Amazing job.”
Later on Monday, after his Twitter post had caused quite the stir, Dr Smith shared more pictures of his tattoo with his followers.
Sharing two new images, he wrote: “They’re very personal & down to the skill of Vali Stefan. On my arm is Asclepius (god of medicine) & on my chest, his father, Apollo (god of healing, disease, music and light) with his sun chariot.”
