Edinburgh Argos: City centre store one of many that will not be reopening after lockdown

The outlet has been cleared out and the company say that staff have been offered opportunities in other stores.
An Argos spokesperson said, “Our North Bridge Argos store has now closed and colleagues were offered opportunities to redeploy to alternative roles within Sainsbury’s.

This comes months after the company announced that they would be shutting down Argos shops across the UK in order to increase collection points within Sainsbury’s.
A statement on their site says: “We will close around 420 Argos standalone stores, reducing the UK Argos standalone store estate to around 100 by March 2024.
"By March 2024 we will open up to 150 more Argos stores in Sainsbury’s and add 150-200 more Argos collection points in supermarkets and convenience stores.”
