Edinburgh Castle starts online bookings ahead of August reopening

Edinburgh Castle has started up its online booking system ahead of its August reopening.
The Capital’s famous historic structure will reopen its doors again on August 1 after closing due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Hide AdHistoric Environment Scotland will also be opening Stirling Castle and Urquhart Castle in Inverness which have also been closed since March 18.
The three Scottish castle’s will be the first ticketed sites Historic Scotland are reopening, with 23 others opening on a rolling basis throughout August through to mid-September.
Alex Paterson, Chief Executive of HES, said: “We very much look forward to welcoming Historic Scotland members, and members of the public back to Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Urquhart Castle.
“Since lockdown began – which is the first time since the Second World War that all of our visitor attractions have been closed – we have been working hard to implement new safety measures at our sites in line with Scottish Government guidance.
