Bosses at the popular Leith shopping centre announced on Tuesday that the facility is now in “partial lockdown” in light of the latest advice from the UK and Scottish governments.

On Monday night, Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined new strict measures to fight the spread of coronavirus, including a ban on public gatherings of two or more people. He said people should leave home only for essential items like food and medicine and fulfilling care needs, to exercise once a day and travel to and from work where "absolutely necessary.”

An Ocean Terminal spokesperson said: “Please continue to follow government advice and keep safe during this difficult time.

“It is imperative that we do not have the general public using Ocean Terminal as a place to gather, we are following the guidance issued by the Scottish Government and we ask very kindly that you also follow this.”

The team at Ocean Terminal said their website and social media channels will be kept up to date with information.

The spokesperson added: “Take care and stay safe. Team OT.”
