J.K. Rowling has slammed a supermarket chain for cancelling a nurse’s order that was booked three weeks ago without warning.

The Harry Potter author tweeted Morrisons after noticing Scottish nurse Lauren, who has two small children, was given no warning about food order being scrapped “in the middle of the night.”

In a message to the supermarket giant J.K. Rowling said: “Hi Morrisons. You’ve cancelled the order of a nurse who’s also a single mother with two small children, and you’ve done it without warning in the middle of the night.

“Her friends can’t help her out due to the lockdown.

“Could you sort this, please?

“She needs this food.”

Lauren, who lives in Edinburgh, said Morrisons had shoddy customer service for not warning her about the cancellation.

She said the order was “much-needed” and had been placed three weeks ago.

Morrisons has since contacted the mum-of-two to arrange her order.
