Nicola Sturgeon says she felt ‘lump in the throat’ watching footage of first UK Pfizer coronavirus vaccination

Ms Sturgeon called the moment when 90-year-old Margaret Keenan was vaccinated by nurse May Parsons at University Hospital in Coventry, “a milestone moment”.
The first vaccines in Scotland are set to be administered later today.

Hide AdIn a post on social media accompanying a video of Ms Keenan’s jab, Ms Sturgeon wrote: “Got a bit of a lump in the throat watching this.
“Feels like such a milestone moment after a tough year for everyone.
“The first vaccines in Scotland will be administered today too.”
Scotland has received an initial delivery of 65,500 doses of the vaccine, enough for 32,750 people, with more to follow.

Hide AdHealth Secretary Jeane Freeman initially announced that the first delivery to Scotland would be 320,000 doses, but manufacturers have limited the supply.
