Replacement COVID vaccines to Fife centre after fridge failure hits appointments

Replacement vaccines have been sent to a COVID centre in Fife after after its fridges failed overnight.

The problem hit early appointments at Rothes Halls in Glenrothes this morning.

NHS Fife said the clinic is back up and running, and people with appointments should attend as scheduled;.

In a statement, it said: “We experienced a brief issue earlier this morning at our Rothes Halls community COVID-19 vaccination clinic following a fridge failure overnight.

The problem only affected those with appointments in the early part of the morning with replacement vaccines delivered to the venue quickly.

People whose vaccinations could not be carried out initially are being contacted to offer a rescheduled appointment for later today.

NHS Fife said people should only arrive on time for their appointment, rather than early.
