A number of students at the halls of residence at Queen Margaret University are self-isolating after one positive case of coronavirus was confirmed.
The university contacted students yesterday afternoon to advise that those who have come into contact with the case have already been contacted and ‘are being given appropriate guidance and advice’.

The email said: “We are aware of a student in the halls of residence who has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and following all national guidance.
"A number of people have been contacted because they may have been in close and sustained contact with the case and will need to self-isolate. They are being given appropriate guidance and advice.
"Activities within the university will continue as normal.
"Unless you have been contacted, you should continue to attend classes as normal.

"If you have any concerns in the meantime, or if you need to book a COVID-19 test because you have developed symptoms (high temperature, a new continuous cough and/or a loss or change in sense of smell or taste) please visit the NHS Inform website or for non-clinical advice call 0800 028 2816. In the event that you need assistance in arranging transport to a testing site, you should contact either Accommodation Services or Security for assistance.
"Remember to stay at home if anyone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19. If you are self-isolating, have symptoms of coronavirus, or have coronavirus, you also need to: (1) Tell Security - and also Accommodation if you live on campus; (2) Contact the School Office.”
