The man, who can be seen with a guitar at the start of the clip, delighted fellow residents this evening by singing his own coronavirus-themed lyrics to the tune of ‘Sweet Caroline.’

In the song, he swaps ‘sweet Caroline’ for ‘sweet quarantine’ and the lyrics ‘I’m staying clean, oh, no, no... wash my hands just like I should.”

BBC reporter Hope Webb shared the video on twitter with a post which said: “My heart is so full. My neighbour is playing a concert for all of us in our shared garden in Portobello.

“Here’s an example of all of this craziness bringing people together.”

The video has been viewed more than 500 times.

It comes near the end of a week of government restrictions on social distancing and only leaving home for exercise and essentials, such as food and medicine, as the coronavirus pandemic takes hold in the UK.

Thank goodness for light-hearted moments like this in these dark times.
