Here is a list of the pharmacies open across Edinburgh

Pharmacies across Edinburgh are considered essential shops and remain open during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many pharmacies are operating on reduced opening hours in line with government guidelines and people are being encouraged to use home delivery options where possible.

Pharmacies in the city have experienced a similar problem of stockpiling to supermarkets with people gathering far more medication than they need causing long queues in the city.

NHS Lothian has asked people not to stockpile medicines and to order repeat prescriptions no more than 10 days before you're due to run out.

While visiting your pharmacy counts as essential travel, if you have symptoms of the virus, including a high temperature/fever or persistent cough, NHS Lothian says not to go to your pharmacy.

They recommend that you ask a neighbour or family member to pick up your medication for you.

A spokesperson from NHS Lothian said: “If you’ve developed a new continuous cough and/or a fever/high temperature in the last 7 days, stay at home for 7 days from the start of your symptoms even if you think your symptoms are mild. Do not go to your GP, pharmacy or hospital.”
