The fire was within a ground floor flat near Leith and Newhaven.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they received a report of a fire on Trafalgar Street, just off Ferry Road, at 3.21pm on Wednesday.

Three appliances were sent to the scene and the crew was able to successfully extinguish the fire.

No other emergency services were at the scene and there were no reported injuries.
