Weekly update: 12 areas in Edinburgh that recorded the lowest numbers of new coronavirus cases

Data from the Scottish Government show these 12 areas in Edinburgh recorded the lowest numbers of positive coronavirus cases between October 23 and 29.

This data from Public Health Scotland gives a breakdown of the number of cases per region across the whole country and includes the population of each area for context.

Not included in this list, the worst hit area in Edinburgh is Old Town, Princes street and Leith street with 36 new cases reported over the week.

The first seven areas on the list didn’t record a single new case in the time frame, the following five recorded between one and four new cases. They are ordered according to the highest population.

This data is from October 23 to October 29.

Over this seven day period, 453 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the City of Edinburgh, that’s 86.3 cases per 100,000 population.
