Edinburgh Lloyds Bank office shuts as staff member tests positive for COVID-19
The bank’s Citymark office in the Capital has been shut.
Lloyds Bank’s Citymark office in Edinburgh has been shut after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus, the Evening News can reveal.
It is the third confirmed case of someone from Edinburgh contracting the virus, following the news two doctors from the Capital tested positive earlier this week.
There are 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Lothians, with 60 cases across Scotland.
Lloyds’ office, which is located at 150 Fountainbridge, will be shut for a deep clean while staff are being told to self-isolate.
Staff are also being told to work from home from a contingency site, depending on the team they work for at the company.
A Lloyds Banking Group spokesman said: “The Edinburgh Citymark building will be temporarily closed to allow for the appropriate areas of the site to be cleaned, after a colleague based there was diagnosed with COVID-19.
“Our priority is the wellbeing of the individual, as well as the colleagues and visitors to the building. We’re closely monitoring the developing situation and continue to follow official guidelines.”
The Bank of Scotland is a subsidiary of Lloyds Banking Group, which it has owned since 2009.
