Judy Steven is bringing a smile to people’s faces as she dances through lockdown

Grandmother Judy Steven is spreading joy and laughter with a music video showing her dancing enthusiastically to Justin Timberlake’s hit, Can’t Stop the Feeling.

Living in Muirhouse with her son Paul, Judy is famous in her family for being the life and soul of her large family, with five children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Son Mike, who stays in Musselburgh laughed: “For her 85th birthday, we had a party at the Hibs supporters club, there were about a hundred people there - she’s very popular. She was first on the dance floor and last off it again at the end of the night, stopping only to have her cups of tea!

“She’s a real character. There’s not a minute she’s not like that - if you go round to her house, it’ll only be a few minutes before you’ll feel like you’ve known her for years.”

The video was filmed by son Paul, who Judy lives with.

Mike explained: “We’re grateful that at these times, there’s someone with her just keeping an eye. She’ll be ready for lockdown to end so she can get back to her bingo, she’s been playing bingo for years and years with her pals in Leith.

“It’s a privilege to know her, and be close to her, she’s an absolute diamond.”
