Ice cream parlour to scoop Sick Kids cash

FORMER workers from an Edinburgh ice cream parlour are to return to the counter for the day and donate their wages to the Sick Kids Friends Foundation (SKFF).

Seven former employees from S Luca in Morningside will don SKFF T-shirts tomorrow to raise funds for the charity.

The amount will be matched by the owners of S Luca and the total will be presented to the foundation. Residents are being urged to support the volunteers’ efforts tomorrow from 8.30am to 7pm.

The business, which also has a parlour in Musselburgh, has previously taken part in fundraising activities to support the SKFF.

Kate Luca, manager at the Morningside parlour, said: “I am amazed by how keen former staff are to return, especially during our Christmas rush.”
