Rebus author Ian Rankin and Bay City Roller Stuart ‘Woody’ Wood are just two of the capital names who are backing Kevin Brolly and Phil Hague from the band Admiral Fallow in the pair’s charity run.

Also lending their support are Radio Scotland presenter Vic Galloway and Mercury Prize nominee and Fence Records supremo King Creosote.

And earlier this week Hearts revealed their players will wear t-shirts with the Tiny Changes name emblazoned on the front prior to Sunday’s Scottish Cup final meeting with Celtic.

Pianist Kevin and drummer Phil, both 34, are set to complete the 13-mile run - dubbed Phil and Kev’s Xmas Wobble - in the streets and parks of Glasgow on December 23.

Tiny Changes was set up by the family of Scott Hutchison - frontman of the band Frightened Rabbit - following his tragic death at Port Edgar near South Queensferry just over two years ago.

The charity raises funds and awareness to support the mental health of young people in Scotland.

Kevin said: “We met Scott a few years ago when our bands toured together a couple of times in the UK and Australia. He was a very likeable guy and we all on got on really well.

“His death was a huge shock to us all and still feels painful to this day.

“Phil and I were already planning on doing a half marathon and we thought it would be a gesture to try and raise money for the Tiny Changes charity set up by Scott’s family.

“Our initial aim was to raise a few hundred pounds but to beat that would mean a lot to us.

“We know it’s a tough time of year for everyone but any kind of donation will be a huge help to the charity which does some amazing work with young people.”

Writer and music fan Ian Rankin said: “I only knew Scott through his songs and it was such a blow to Scottish music when he died.

“I’m a supporter of Tiny Changes - I even bought the t-shirt - and as a fan of Admiral Fallow I can only cheer to the rafters - in my social bubble - the news that band members will be running in support of the charity.

“I’ll certainly be donating - easier than running a half-marathon - and I would encourage others to do the same.”

Bay City Roller Stuart added: “Scott’s passing was such a tragic loss and my heart continues to go out to his family and friends.

'It would be great if you can help Admiral Fallow raise a good sum for the charity Tiny Changes which is a very worthwhile cause.”

Vic Galloway, who also presents on BBC Radio 6, said: “It’s great to see fellow musicians Kevin and Phil of Admiral Fallow showing support for the charity with their own efforts here.

“Scott’s passing was a genuine tragedy.”

Admiral Fallow was formed in 2007 and headlined the T Break stage at T in the Park in 2009.
