Edinburgh council leader Adam McVey has issued a video statement in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe, insisting a “robust plan” is in place to deal with all possible eventualities in the Capital.

Cllr McVey says in the statement, released on the council’s official Twitter account today (Thursday), that concerns of residents in appreciated given the current situation around the world, but moved the reassure the public and business owners that the “dynamic plan” was flexible to deal with ever changing global situation.

Cllr McVey said: “We very much appreciate this is a worrying time with people looking at what it is going on around the world and worrying about what that means for people right here in Edinburgh.

“We’ve put a together a robust plan, a dynamic plan, that can shift as circumstances change to make sure we’ve got enough planned, and enough resource in that plan to make sure the city can continue to function the best it can through any eventually

“We’ll continue to work with partners to monitor the situation and make sure Edinburgh is ready for whatever faces us in the coming weeks and months.
