Over the years, New Year revellers in the Capital have been spoiled rotten, with some truly epic gigs from the biggest names in music.
Here, we take a look back over some of the very best Edinburgh Hogmanay gigs.
5. KT Tunstall / Texas
Edinburgh-born KT Tuntall said ahead of this gig in 2005 that she had dreamed of playing Edinburgh's Hogmanay, adding: "As a Scots lass it's the gig of a lifetime." Mercury nominee KT didn't let the chance slip and played a storming set comprising all her biggest hits, such as Suddenly I See and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. Glasgow pop-rockers Texas shared the bill, and Sharleen Spiteri was in typically fine voice as her band played a set of their greatest hits. Photo: Third Party
6. Blondie / Scissor Sisters
New York-based rock acts Scissor Sisters and Blondie headed the musical line-up at Hogmanay on December 31, 2004. An unforgettable night, the evening had a real disco feel to it given the headliners. Photo: Third Party
7. Pet Shop Boys
As 2014 broke, it was second time lucky for seminal electro-pop duo the Pet Shop Boys, seven years on from their last aborted attempt to headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. Neil Tennant and Chris Low dusted off all the hits, including Domino Dancing, It's A Sin and Always On My Mind. Edinburgh's own Nina Nesbitt and The 10:04's warmed up the crowd before PSB took to the stage. Photo: Third Party
