Christmas is nearing, and many people seem to be more excited about the festive season than ever after an unprecedented and tough year.

For this reason, families may be looking to go all out with their home decorations, especially since most celebrations are off the cards due to the pandemic.

And, of course, the most important decoration is the Christmas tree.

While some opt for artificial versions, which are usually easier to put up and last forever, buying and dressing a real tree can be an exciting festive activity with a magnificent end result.

But be warned, real fir trees have a short lifespan and typically last for about four weeks before they start to shed their needles.

For this reason, The British Christmas Tree Growers Association (BCTGA) recommends buying your tree at the beginning of December if you want it to last throughout the holiday season.
