Edinburgh-based Italian restaurant Amarone is partnering with Italian beer brand Menabrea to give customers the ultimate travel consultation for their Italian gourmet getaway.

For today only at Amarone, their Menabrea pints will be served on a unique beermat and visitors can turn it over to create their own holiday travel to-do list, complete with accommodation, gourmet food recommendations and local secrets.

Menabrea’s Italian expert will be on hand to impart their knowledge to book a bespoke Italian holiday based around the beer mat.

Angus Lawrie of Menabrea, said: “Booking the ultimate Italian summer holiday can sometimes be stressful, but this experience will have customers enjoying every minute of planning their ultimate Italian escape - with a refreshing pint of Menabrea birra.

Travel advice will be tailored to each customer to take them off the beaten track. For example, they could be travelling to Biella in the foothills of the Italian Alps, where Giuseppe Menabrea established his family’s brewery more than 170 years ago.

Customers who choose to embark on their amazing Italian journey will take part in Menabrea’s first ever Italian guidebook – snapping pictures of their escape and sharing them on Instagram.

The best submissions will be picked to create a guidebook hosted in Menabrea’s website with those picked also winning Menabrea to enjoy in the comfort of their own home.
