Jason Leitch has shown his support for a children’s athletic team in Leith as it looks to raise money for a new kit.

Taking to Twitter, Professor Leitch asked people if they could help Leith Athletics Under-13s Third Division Blacks by sponsoring it for kit.

The national clinical director re-shared a post from the team which asked members of the public to help them find a new kit sponsorship for next season for its Third Division Blacks team.

Mr Leitch asked his followers, ‘Can you help?’

Niall Mackie, head team coach, said: "One of the dads who volunteers as a coach works beside Professor Jason Leitch It was amazing to get his support.

"Like everyone else, the boys have had a tough time in lockdown.

“Football has kept them focused and together. We are so proud of them for their positive attitude. It would mean the world to them to get new kit to proudly represent Leith."
