5. A dying breed
Sadly Willow, the last Corgi in this long line of royal pups, passed away in 2018. But before her passing, Willow got to make her acting debut with fellow corgis Monty and Holly, who appeared alongside Her Majesty and Daniel Craig for a sketch for the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. 6. Not only Corgis
It isn't just pure breed Corgis that Her Majesty owned over the years. She also owned several Dorgis (Dachshund-Corgi mixes) throughout her reign, as well as a Cocker Spaniel called Lissy. Photo: BEN STANSALL

7. What's in a name?
The Queen's dogs have had some peculiar names over the years, including Whisky, Disco, Vulcan, and Windsor Myth. But some names are more sentimental and have even been chosen as touching tributes, including Fergus, who was named after her uncle who was tragically killed in World War I. Photo: WPA Pool

8. Beware of the dog
On several occasions, the Queen or her staff have been injured by the corgis. In 1954, the palace clock winder, Leonard Hubbard, was bitten by Susan upon entering the nursery at the Windsor. Later in the same year, one of the Queen Mother's Corgis bit a policeman on guard duty in London. Photo: Potter
