The young Clermiston baker put smiles on children's faces and coins in the coffers of Cash for Kids by hosting her very own social distanced tuck shop this Halloween.

Sarah, who is also an aspiring mental health nurse, made 250 cupcakes with one third green, purple and orange as well as 100 goody bags for those not fancying a cake. And others donated rocky road brownies, fudge, biscuits, gingerbread men and truffles to the tuck shop.Families who attended were asked to donate what they could and in the process raised just under £800 for the Radio Forth charity.Sarah Osbourne said: “It was just such a happy day, everyone made so much effort. I used to be a swimming teacher at the local pool for 7 years and I resigned during lockdown so it was so lovely to see some of the kids I used to teach. I just spent the whole day with a big smile on my face.

“When I started doing the 5k a day for Forth 1, Cash for Kids, I kept thinking how I could make even more money for such an amazing charity and then I thought ‘what better way than cake?!’ It meant the local kids would have something to do on Halloween and I could hopefully get more donations.“I made 250 cupcakes, 1/3 green, 1/3 purple and 1/3 orange. Other people donated rocky road, brownies, fudge, biscuits, gingerbread men, truffles. I was totally overwhelmed but the amount of baked donations, everyone was so kind and none of it went to waste.”Through her running and baking - Sarah has so far raised £1,200 for Cash for Kids.Haneen Al-Khamis, a local parent who attended the stall, said: “Sarah’s bake sale for Halloween was great fun for the whole family. So much effort was put into it. Everyone was dressed up and the place looked very spooky and fun. The cupcakes tasted AMAZING and it was lovely to know that it was for such a wonderful cause. The kids had a great time and asked if they could come back next year.”
