Beloved Edinburgh cafe Scran Bistro announce plans for two new sites

Much-loved eatery Scran Bistro has announced plans to launch two further sites in Edinburgh’s city centre.

Scran is known far and wide for its tasty breakfast and brunch grub, as well as its range of sweet and savoury treats.

The team took to Instagram last weekend to let Scran fans know about the plans, which will see new Scran Bistro cafes open at 36 North Bridge and 51-52 George IV Bridge.

Scran Bistro, which opened in the North Bridge Arcade back in 2018, is a hit with Edinburgh foodies for its sweet treats, teas, cakes and coffees, as well as hearty portions of loaded fries, burgers and filled wraps.

The sites are planned to be opened in 2021.

In an Instagram post, the eatery’s team said: “Every one of us at Scran has been working extremely hard behind the scenes and trying to keep the business running while trying to improve and move forward. We are SO happy to let you guys know Scran will be opening another 2 branches this year!!!”

With the existing Scran Bistro site already nestled in the North Bridge Arcade, plans for the ‘New Town’ site will see Scran’s owners create another home for themselves within the Arcade at 36 North Bridge.

The Scran team hinted at the reveal of a new menu for the second site, encouraging fans and customers to get in touch with their own ideas of dishes and treats to go on the menu.

Their Instagram post went on to thank customers for supporting them and allowing them to grow after such a challenging year for hospitality businesses.

“Every single person that has been in, liked our posts, recommended us to their family/friends and colleagues,” the post said.

"You guys have been unreal and if it wasn’t for you all, none of this would’ve been possible. We are here for you when you are out on a walk, chilling at home or just want a wee chat.”
