This Easter we plan to support local businesses while feeding our faces with these gorgeous creations.
As it’s one of our (many) guilty pleasures, we’re pleased to see that the Creme Egg features heavily, with it appearing in the centre of brownies, cookies and former MasterChef contestant and Locker Hyndland chef David Hetherington’s new invention, the brookie.

Chef David Hetherington of Glasgow's Locker Hyndland has created a brookie - a brownie and cookie hybrid - for Easter. It features a heart of Creme Eggyness.

Their Grassmarket gelato bar may be temporarily closed, but Mary's Milk Bar in Edinburgh are still delivering their chocolatey goodies. These Simnal Bars are a take on the traditional Easter cake, with cinnamon and nutmeg milk chocolate with almond white chocolate and golden sultanas.

The Easter Sweetie Treat Box from Three Sisters Bake in Glasgow and Quarriers Village contains a Mini Egg cookie slice or Creme Egg brownie, each surrounded by a sweet shop's worth of sugary stuff. Order on their website. www.threesistersbake.co.uk Photo: Contributed
Traditionalists might prefer a well made hot cross bun, instead of the rest of the sugar fest. These are made by Edinburgh's Twelve Triangles and stocked at various venues, including the lovely cafe, Elliott's.
