Edinburgh's best street food offerings - in pictures
Some of Edinburgh’s street food businesses have gone into hibernation, now that we’re into the cold and rainy season.
However, if you’re the hardy sort, who isn’t put off by rain on their lunch, here are a few places to try.
We’ve gone for actual outdoors venues, rather than the indoor sort, serving dishes that would be served outside in warmer climes.

5. Harajuku Kitchen outside St James Quarter
You may be in the centre of town when a craving for gyoza hits. If so, head to this new spot for Tollcross restaurant, Harajuku Kitchen. It also offers poke bowls, sushi burritos, yakisoba noodles and karaage chicken. You'll also find this restaurant regularly popping up at Stockbridge Market. 6. Brazilian creperie, Tupiniquim
How long has this place been serving sweet and savoury crepes from the green police box at the top of Middle Meadow Walk. It feels like an eternity (but is actually 11 years). Their crepe fillings include pumpkin a la papai, with cheese, sundried and fresh tomatoes, avocado, spinach and pecans. On Instagram, you'll find them under @tupiniquim_brasil Photo: Contributed

7. Orinoco Latin food
Orinoco serve arepas (stuffed cornbread) but also empanadas (patties) and taquenos (Venezuelan cheese fingers wrapped in pastry). They don't need to pop up so much any more, though you may still find them at events including the Meadows Festival, since they have their own shop at 281 Leith Walk. 8. The Pitt on Edinburgh's Pitt Street
The original and best, The Pitt is Edinburgh's home of street food. They've got Oktoberfest on October 9-10, and after that they're returning to their autumn programming, which includes introducing more healthy street food options and hot drinks. The guest traders for the next couple of weeks are The Peruvian (October 9-10), vegan trader Antojitos (October 15-17) and Goodtime tacos from Newcastle (October 22-24). On the final weekend of October, they're hosting a Winter Cider Fest with guest trader, SoulFull. www.thepitt.co.uk Photo: Contributed
