Alongside the family restaurant's reopenings, the group will continue its La Favorita Delivered Central and Portobello delivery and collection services and this is available to order across Edinburgh City Centre through their website and Deliveroo partnership.

In May, the group expanded their delivery and collection services with the addition of a Taste of Italy menu to meet customer demand during lockdown.

Constant reinvention has been part of the fabric at Edinburgh-based Vittoria Group since their first eatery, Vittoria on the Walk, opened in 1970 and over the past few months the family have been extremely busy working out how to survive the crisis, retain as many jobs as possible and support their staff during a challenging time for the wider hospitality sector.

Vittoria Group restaurants will however re-open with a reduced capacity and this will be monitored continuously in line with Scottish Government guidelines. Management across all six restaurants and two delivery sites continue to work behind the scenes to make the dining out experience as safe as possible for both their staff, and customers.

Hygiene measures have been prepared to make all the venues safe for all customers in accordance with government recommendations.

Staff will be wearing gloves and safety masks and ll surfaces that could possibly be touched by both the staff and guests are cleaned and disinfected between sittings. All staff members have completed on site training on COVID-19 safety within the workplace.

The company, owned by Tony and Angela Crolla and their sons Alberto and Leandro will also celebrate their 50th anniversary later this year and plans are currently being drawn up by the Crolla family for something special across the estate to thank their loyal customers.

Leandro Crolla said: "It has been an uncertain few months for the Scottish hospitality sector but during these trying and challenging times we have been encouraged by the incredible support of our customers. Like many businesses we are adapting and learning every day but count ourselves lucky to have restaurants where social distringing is relatively easy.

“Our staff have been outstanding and pulled together to make sure the restaurants are ready to welcome customers back safely. We are all excited to get back to business and once again serve authentic Italian cuisine to our customers."
