This Saturday, June 10, is World Gin Day – and we’re celebrating by naming the best gin bars in the Capital.
Scotland is the largest producer of gin in the world, it’s no wonder that Edinburgh is full of bars showcasing the juniper-flavoured spirit. Whether you prefer a gin and tonic, a classic cocktail like a martini or a Negroni, or a more inventive concoction, there are plenty of spots in Edinburgh that will serve you the perfect drink for World Gin Day.
Situated on North Castle Street, Tonic does a lot more than just a simple G&T. The independent bar serves up an eclectic range of gin cocktails, partnered with flavourful liqueurs. This award-winning cocktail bar on Queen Street is named after a classic gin cocktail - the Bramble - but also serves up other delectable cocktails featuring the spirit, like the Evergreen and the Buckthorn Spritz. This basement bar is hidden away on Rutland Street, but is not to be missed. Mixologists at the Heads and Tales Gin Bar have perfected not only the timeless classic cocktails, but have also created new delicious inventions with gin. One happy customer gave the bar a glowing review, writing: "Located underground down a set of stairs you could easily miss it, but it's fantastic inside.
