Then why not round it all off with a trip to the dessert station to satisfy your sweet tooth: choices include cheesecake, fudge cake, brownies and the tempting chocolate fountain.

The desserts are handmade by a pastry chef with a wealth of experience – making this much more than other all-you-can-eat establishments.

“We take a lot of pride in the food we create here at Mr Basrai’s as we want to offer great cuisine from around the world which is why we’ve hired the best chefs to prepare it for our diners,” says director Vikram Shekhawat.

“This is a family-run business, and we love having families and children in to share a meal together.”

Kids under the age of ten are half-price, while under-threes eat for free. Pre-Covid, it was a popular destination for family get-togethers and birthday parties and Vikram is hopeful that it won’t be long until celebrations can be held again.

“We always include items that we know children will enjoy eating because we want them to come along and have a great time,” he adds. “It really is a great place for the whole family.”

To honour the dads, stepdads and like-a-dads in the city, Mr Basrai’s World Cuisines will be running a competition to give away vouchers on its social media – follow on Facebook for full details.

Or why not take advantage of the great offers? Students can get 15 per cent off their food bill by showing their ID card (except for Saturdays), while NHS and emergency services workers get 10 per cent off from Sunday to Friday, as do members of the armed forces.
