Believed to be one of the most haunted locations in the world, Edinburgh is home to its fair share of haunted hangouts.

Featuring everything from the ghosts of former Edinburgh residents haunting their old watering holes, to the sites of unexplained deaths and mysterious incidents, this list has it all.
If you visit any of these pubs make sure you look out for anything spooky and out of the ordinary, you won’t be the first to have noticed.

9. The Conan Doyle
Named after Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, former staff members have reported going downstairs into the cellar and experiencing sudden chills and heard unexplained noises when nobody else was around. Photo: Google
This pub is a controversial one to include on this list, some people argue that the horror theme is all for show but others say that they've seen glasses mysteriously smash and heard giggles when nobody else is around. You'll have to go yourself to decide. Photo: Google
Greyfriars Bobby's Bar is said to be haunted by Bobby himself, but in a friendly-ghost type of way. Legend has it that after his owner, John Gray passed away in 1858, Bobby faithfully watched over his grave every night. When the dog eventually died in 1872 he was buried alongside his master in the Greyfriars Kirkyard. Visitors to the pub over the years have reported hearing distant barks and feeling 'things' brush up against their legs when there was nothing there. Photo: Google
