Throughout October, a luxury hotel in the city centre will serve up a pink-themed afternoon tea in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian will host the afternoon tea offering until October 31 and will donate £5 from each one sold to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation, which are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, have been affected by breast cancer, or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment.

Every year the Foundation invites charities in the UK to apply for a grant in order to help them continue their vital work or to fund one off projects.

The pink-themed tea on offer with feature a delectable selection of freshly baked rose macarons, berry and chocolate spheres, madeleines, scones and a selection of finger sandwiches.

The Pink Afternoon Tea remains at the usual afternoon tea price of £35 per person for Traditional Afternoon Tea and £45 per person for Champagne Afternoon Tea.

Dale MacPhee, General Manager of Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, said: “In times like these, charities need more support than ever so we are delighted to be raising funds for the Pink Ribbon Foundation and their vital work.”

This limited edition Pink Afternoon Tea is available as traditional, vegan or free from gluten afternoon tea, and will be served daily from 12pm until 5pm in Peacock Alley.
