McDonald's UK has launched the brand-new Secret Menu for January 2026, an exciting new menu inspired by custom orders and hacks by fans of the iconic fast food chain.

Speaking of McDonald’s fans, I can certainly class myself as one.

Despite enjoying the luxury of fine dining, all I want sometimes is a big, juicy burger from McDonald’s.

I’ve tried almost everything McDonald’s has introduced to its menu over the years, and although I definitely have my favourites (please come back Philly Cheese Stack), I’m always intrigued by a new addition.

Launched on Monday January 5, McDonald’s recently unveiled its new items which included; the Surf N’ Turf, the Chicken Cheeseburger, Espresso Milkshake, Apple Pie Mini McFlurry and more.

I was most intrigued by the Surf N’ Turf burger, as I absolutely love burgers and this combination sounded very unique.

The Surf N’ Turf burger combines two beef patties with a fish fillet patty, as well as cheese, onions, pickles, mustard, and tomato ketchup.

I’ve never actually tried a Filet-O-Fish before, as it just never appealed to me. But combining it with beef was far too intriguing to turn down.

So I ordered the Surf N’ Turf burger to see if it was worth the hype. My verdict? It wasn’t.

Now, that’s not to say I didn’t like it. In fact, it was slightly enjoyable. I liked the difference in the textures, with the juiciness of the beef in contrast to the crunch of the fish fillet.

But it isn’t a burger I would have again. It cemented my thoughts that I don’t particularly like a fish burger, but most of all it was a lot blander than I expected.

I think it’s an interesting combo from McDonald’s and definitely worth a try, but if it became a permanent menu item, I wouldn’t order it again.

As a side item, I also ordered the returning fan-favourite, the Chilli Cheese Bites, which I have to say are my absolute favourite type of cheese bites that McDonald’s has previously launched.

Also returning is one of my favourite McFlurry’s, the Galaxy Smooth Caramel McFlurry has also made a comeback. I’d certainly recommend giving it a try if you love chocolate, caramel and ice cream.
