The re-launch which has been months in the making delivers several brand new features including the in-store bakery, a bread and cake department, wine shop, and a bigger-than-ever cheese range.

M&S Food’s ‘Fill Your Own’ selection will help cut plastic and food waste, giving shoppers a chance to use their own containers to stock up on what they need for essentials like pasta, rice, cereal – and even frozen fruit and pastries.

Other new elements at the food hall are a sushi section with freshly prepared sashimi and sushi, a rotisserie chicken station and even new aisles featuring Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar themed products.

The fresh produce area has also been expanded and the frozen product section has doubled in size. New checkouts and quicker ways to pay complete the new food shopping experience.

M&S Gyle Store Manager, Jason Dixon, said, “I can’t wait for our customers to discover the amazing transformation we’ve made. They’ll find our fresh produce aisles brimming with flavorful fruit and veg which includes our Scottish strawberries, and our in-store bakery ready to serve fresh bread and delicious pastries throughout the day. Come and see us soon - you’ll be in for a warm welcome and a big surprise with all the changes we’ve made!”

The new in-store bakery will bake bread throughout the day so customers can always buy something fresh out of the oven, and, like all M&S bread, the bread and rolls are baked on site.

The wine range will feature an award-winning selection including iconic styles in M&S’s ‘Classics’ range and new varieties to discover from unexpected locations in the ‘Found’ range.

Jason added, “We’ve got thousands of quality and great value Food products, from daily essentials and seasonal, fresh produce, to RSPCA Assured milk, and chicken, duck, fresh pork and 100 per cent Scottish Salmon from M&S Select Farmers. Whether you’re popping in to grab lunch made on the premises in our new sushi bar or to grab one of our ready-to-go family meals, M&S stalwarts like Percy Pigs, or something a bit special like our Cherry Blossom Gin Liqueur, we’re excited to see what proves popular as we welcome customers to our bigger, better offering.”

At the Gyle customers will now be able to make the most of new ways to pay, including loyalty scheme Sparks shoppers who will be able to use the M&S app to skip the queue by using the ‘Scan & Shop’ option.

Every week, a few lucky Sparks customers will also be surprised with M&S gifts and one lucky shopper will be treated to the full cost of their shop. A recipient will be chosen at random and whatever is in their trolley will be complimentary!
