Costa Coffee’s Vegan Smoky Ham & CheeZe Toastie, launches nationwide today and has been ‘tradie’ approved by the workforce of Pimlico Plumbers.

In a toastie taste test, the plumbers were asked to review the Vegan Smoky Ham & CheeZe Toastie, which is made with Quorn smoky ham and coconut cheeZe, sandwiched between two sliced of golden vegan bread.

The taste test video revealed that not only were the tradespeople unable to detect that the new offering was not ham and cheese but were shocked to discover Costa Coffee’s new toasted sandwich is in fact vegan.

With a penchant for the humble toastie, along with a certain disposition for quality service, the tradies were perfectly placed to judge Costa’s newest toastie staple, which unbeknownst to them, is entirely meat-free. However, they failed to taste the difference, as the entire group of sarnie savvy plumbers, builders and engineers devoured what they thought to be Costa’s iconic Ham & Cheese toasties.

The Smoky Ham & CheeZe Toastie is the latest addition to Costa Coffee’s January vegan range and one of 25 vegan menu additions.

Eric Tavoukdjian, Commercial Marketing Director at Costa Coffee says, “We know the importance of providing choice for our customers, and we’re really pleased to be able to offer a vegan alternative of one of our iconic, bestselling toasties.
