These Edinburgh businesses are offering drinks delivery amid coronavirus crisis

After the Prime Minister's announcement on 23 March, which effectively put the UK on lockdown, many people will be turning to online delivery services to limited going outside.

Here we take a look at a range of Edinburgh businesses, from beer to gin and soft drinks, who are offering drinks delivery services and discounts at this difficult time.

Spry Wines

The newly opened wine bar is offering a selection of deli items for delivery, as well as a drinks delivery service.

The team said: “The list includes meats, cheeses and essentials, along with some pickles and preserves made by us. The menus are up on our story highlights, get your orders in before 4pm to receive your supplies the same day.

“Thank you for all the wine orders so far, your support is keeping people in jobs and keeping our little shop afloat.”

The team at Spry are also doing a meal prep lunch service of grain bowls. Ingredients in these include: pearl barley, sesame kale, red cabbage and carrot kimchi.

Bellissimo Vino

This Capital wine delivery service is still very much open for business and following strict guidelines to keep everyone safe, including contact-free delivery. They have a range of wines available on their website – including Italian reds and prosecco.

Mothership Scotland

Mothership, the online drinks retailer set up by the founders of Edinburgh’s award-winning cocktail bar Bramble, has announced that it will start stocking products from other, local producers with the incentive of free shipping on all purchases to the UK mainland until further notice.

While Bramble and its sister bars, Lucky Liquor Co. and the Last Word Saloon, are closed in line with the Government’s instructions during these challenging times, Mothership is able to continue delivering directly to home cocktail enthusiasts via online delivery.

Fierce Beer

Edinburgh’s Fierce Beer bar may be closed but you can still enjoy a pint at home thanks to their web shop.

The team are also offering NHS staff special discounts on products as a way of saying thank you.

Bon Accord drinks

Stock up on a range of soft drinks to be delivered to your home thanks to Edinburgh-based Bon Accord.

Drinks include cream soda, ginger beer, tonic and lemonade, and they come in 12 or 24 packs.

Last week BrewDog announced a drive-thru service along with a click and collect offering for those who fancy a beer fix and don’t have a car.

But the craft beer giant, which has bars in Edinburgh, has always had an online shop, which is still open despite COVID-19, stocked full of their big name beers such as Punk IPA along with a selection of sours from their Overworks brewery.

56 North

The team at 56 North have collaborated with Edinburgh’s Cushiedoo’s to launch a gin and tonic delivery service.

Posting on their social media, 56 North said: “Get one 70cl bottle from a choice of South Loch Gin / Rock Rose Gin / Caorunn Gin with a case of 24 bottles of Cushiedoos tonic. Delivered within the Edinburgh city bypass.”
