With eating out forbidden this Valentine’s Day couples will need to get inventive in the romance department this year.

Fear not though, the city’s finest foodie magnets will be working hard behind closed doors to ensure that loved up duos can make their night a special one.

Little Chartroom

On Friday 12th through to Sunday 14th The Little Chartroom are offering a special four-course menu complete with a bottle of fizz for £95.

Courses include braised beef cheeks, and a chocolate & peanut butter cookie tart

Some elements of the menu will need to be completed at home.

Smiddy BBQ

It might be too cold out to host a barbecue but the Smiddy BBQ are here to lend a hand for meat lovers.

Run by a pair of friends with an obsession for Texan BBQ methods, this restaurant delivers “a uniquely Scottish BBQ”.

Couples who prefer substance to style should definitely consider ordering a plate stacked with brisket, pork belly burnt ends and short rib from the Smiddy.

Chop House

The Edinburgh steak house are offering a three-course valentines menu for £120.

Each "At Home" steak dinner contains a starter of baked scallops, two 35 day dry aged fillet steak, a chocolate & salted caramel pot, as well as sides and drinks.


Fish restaurant Ondine are offering a Valentine’s Day cook at home menu for loved up couples.

Their menu options this year include a six oyster selection, Welch smoked salmon, grilled native lobster and lobster thermidor.

The menu costs £45 per person.

The Garden Bistro

This Garden Bistro’s menu features a stilton, date and walnut chutney canapé, a starter of twice-baked cheese souffle, served with an apple and celeriac salad, a main of Scottish Beef Wellington, served with potato dauphinoise, Provençale vegetable slice and a port wine jus.

The menu is £75 for two or an extra £20 for a bottle of prosecco.


Those looking to start celebrations early can do so with MILK Cafe’s brunch hamper.

Priced at £35, it serves two and includes: almond croissants, homemade clementine and vanilla bean marmalade, seasonal fruit and buckwheat and cardamom granola.

Market Street Hotel

Market Street are offering up their Bubble Up at Home box this February 14 which features a stunning Champagne cheese fondue.

The £80 gift box also features choux buns with champagne and raspberry cream

Maki Ramen

Japanese restaurant Maki Ramen are offering a set menu for two for £50.

Dishes include sashimi, gyoza and match trunk cake, with each order complete with a single red rose.


Contini are offering couples’ tastebuds a romantic break to Italy with their Valentines menu.

Their three course menu costs £35 per person, with roast seabass and Scottish lobster featured in the menu.
