Regional Marketing Manager, Kate Dell, said: "Wagamama has been so well loved for years now in Scotland, and we’re excited to open a beautiful new restaurant at Fort Kinnaird retail park, making it our fourth restaurant in Edinburgh.

"We look forward to welcoming wagamama fans and new guests alike with our nourishing Japanese inspired menu early in March."

Wagamama first opened in London in 1992 and is inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of Asian food.

The company recently launched a new vegan menu which includes a fish-free tuna dish made from watermelon.

The dish is made with dehydrated watermelon which is then sliced, seared and served hot. The look and texture is very similar to tuna sashimi, although the flavour is watermelon.

Wagamama says it's the perfect example of their 'kaizen' (meaning Japanese for good change) philosophy.

Last year the restaurant also launched the world's first vegan egg.
