But we've asked Evening News readers for their recommendations on the best dog-friendly pubs in the region - and there are a quite a few out there. Here are the top five picks...

This Morrison Street pub, which prides itself on its beer selection and wide range of spirits, was a popular choice among readers.
Nikki Gandy said: "Lincoln loves nothing more than a trip to Monty's on Morrison Street. The treats, the scratches and the occasional tipple of tap water - he's always met with the warmest welcome. Plus we get to enjoy some amazing cask and keg choices and a great new wine list."
Marta Heath also gives Monty's the thumbs up and sent in a picture of her pet meeting a fellow rescue dog in the pub.
James MacDougall also sent in a great picture of his dog Skye posing up on a bar stool at Monty's.

The Ox
A buzzing dog-friendly establishment with a warm, intimate feel which offers upscale pub food and craft beer.
Joanna Pauley said: "The Ox on London Street. We offer dog treats in exchange for a donation to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home - over the years we’ve raised nearly £1000. Love a visit from furry friends. Here’s my fur baby Frank in the pub."

Tally Ho, Winchburgh
This West Lothian pub even has a dedicated section on its website called 'dugs welcome.' They actually boast a garden for dogs and provide free water and snacks for your pets.
