Gathering 65,000 online views between them over the course of the month on the ESPC website, houses were very much in-demand compared to flats, with eight of the properties being houses and just two flats making the list.
Long-term homes with extra space were also popular, with six of the properties offering three or more bedrooms, hinting at a continuing strong interest from family buyers in the market, perhaps looking to move home before Christmas.
A mix of locations made the top 10 this month, dominated by Edinburgh, where four of the properties were located (two of which were in Portobello). East Lothian saw three properties reaching the top four, while properties in Midlothian and West Lothian also drew considerable interest from property seekers.
Paul Hilton, CEO of ESPC, said: “The properties making up the top 10 last month present an interesting, and very clear, picture of the market at the moment. Family homes continue to dominate the list, but this month’s properties are in a more affordable price bracket compared to the most popular homes we saw in August, which is a great sign that we’re seeing higher numbers of young buyers looking to move up the ladder.
“The fact that half of the properties have already been snapped up is unsurprising at this time of year; we know buyers and sellers alike are keen to move quickly as we head into autumn, as everyone hopes to be settled in their new home by Christmas.
“There’s a great mix of locations this month, with properties in Midlothian and West Lothian also attracting significant interest from buyers on the hunt for their dream homes.”
